Our business was founded in 1990.

There I was in my kitchen looking down at my little puppy as he was sitting on the floor looking up at me with his little puppy eyes, wagging his tail with excitement. It was the day I decided to give him his first can of dog food, in which I was kind of excited to give it to him too, as I knew he would just love me forever, but when I set his bowl down to feed him, he took one sniff of it, looked up at me with a "what is that" look and walked off with a look of disapointment and concern. I thought it was funny at the time , but I tried almost every brand of dog food there was. I even added rice to mellow the flavor a bit, "nothing worked." I was at the point when I thought to myself, Hmmm does he know something I dont know? Well evidently he did! So I guess, technically, Healthy Dog was founded and discovered by my dog Stimey. At first I started cooking for my dog as a hobby and researching what dog food manufacturers were putting in their food in my spare time and today Healthy Dog is a very strong and growing company. We have over 200 employees and we are all dog owners and the company is now employee owned.

Stimey is 18 years old and he is the original healthy dog. I was there when he was born, I love my dog very much and I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world. In dog years he is 126 years old and he is in perfect condition. He weighs 86 pounds and he is all muscle, he loves camping and hiking, his favorite toy is a fifty pound rock and he loves good food.

My name is Richard Roberts "Author" of this website. I am the owner of the dog (Stimey) who founded and discovered Healthy Dog as described above. When we decided to put Healthy Dog on the internet, we wanted to design a website for dog lovers and dog owners alike. A website easy to read, easy to navigate, easy to understand and fun for everyone. A website of warmth and compassion. A website of the dog for the dog. We hired several website designing firms to help us with this project. After sixteen different designs from six different website designing firms we halted the project after nineteen months of trying to achieve the look we wanted, but couldn't. It was a very big disapointment to us and to all of the website designing firms we pissed off. After a lot of thinking I decided to build this website myself. I packed all of my camping gear (dog included), a laptop computer, an inverted generator and all the supplies I needed to be self-contained and fully functional for business for the whole summer, as I would be high up in the mountains away from society.

I spent most of my days hiking and exploring the countryside with my dog. At night I would sit by the fire with my dog and work on this website until the dew would start to form on the screen of my laptop. It was quite an adventure that I will never forget. The picture above is a picture of my dog Stimey standing by the very same firepit him and I shared warmth and comfort during the making of this website.

And thats how I became the "Author" of Healthy Dog Experts. I would like to thank my entire staff for their support.
